Currently, there are no laws requiring licensing or certification to be a farrier. Choosing a farrier to provide hoof care for your horse is one of the most important decisions you will make for the well being of your horse. You want a professionally trained farrier that has proven his skills to his peers through appropriate certification & testing.
I graduated from an accredited farrier science program under the direct tutelage of Mark Russell in 2003 & became AFA Certified in 2004. I continue my education through programs offered at CSU under the most respected equine professionals in this country such as Dr. Butler, Dr. Platt, Dr Esco Buff & others. I also participate in AFA educational opportunities through their seminars & clinics lead by the highest ranked farriers this country has to offer.
My motivation & interest in excelling in the farrier sciences began with my wife's horse Leroy, who became lame, & no one was able to help him. Due to the lack of qualified/educated farriers available in the mountains, I embarked on this journey to provide what no one else was offering, an AFA Certified Farrier Service that is Dependable, Caring & Ethical.
